The Canadian podcast Horror Etc. just clocked its 246th episode. The topic: Roger Corman.
Which is fitting, because on the side of these Internet broadcasting activities, Kingston, Ontario based show host Anthony D.P. Mann has started cranking out low-budget flicks. First came 2011's Sherlock Holmes and the Shadow Watchers. Now, new to DVD and also screening locally in eastern Canada, is Terror of Dracula.
To frame the arrival of his second film, Mann is also publishing a series of four mini comic e-books. Each one spins off more narrative for one of the film's characters, most recently Demeter with the benefit of some very impressive artwork (sample below).
Mann's faithful adaptation of the original Bram Stoker novel was funded by a Connecticut fan, who liked the Sherlock flick and from there tuned into the podcast. It was shot entirely in and around Kingston, with Fort Henry doubling as Dracula's castle.
Playing Van Helsing is local actor Terry Wade, who was previously Mann's Watson.
