A Pair of L.A. Audience Awards

For Israeli born USC Film School writer-director Lior Chefetz, it's been a pretty good spring so far. Though he has been road-showing his romantic action-comedy short The Godmother since last fall, things have gotten sweeter in L.A. recently with Audience Awards at last month's campus sponsored First Look event (culminating with a special screening ceremony at the DGA) and at the Los Angeles Jewish Film Festival on May 9th. This after bagging a Best Student Film Award in late March at the 2010 Method Fest in nearby Calabasas.

The Godmother stars Rosella Wu (Nip/Tuck) as an unhappy wife who has a change of heart after hiring a mafia hitman (Camden Toy) to kill her husband (Ron Yuan). Up next for the film is a May 14th screening at the Los Angeles Comedy Festival followed by June engagements in Israel and Germany. Hollywood filmmakers who have come through USC's well-regarded First Look event include Jason Reitman, Shawn Levy and Jeffrey Blitz (Spellbound).
