Pennsylvania Project Undone by 'Producerphobia'

It was originally supposed to be a feature-length anthology.

But as writer-director Adam Dunning recently told the Carbondale News in Pennsylvania, those plans collapsed when a scenario as old as the pre-Kickstarter promise of a check in the mail reared its ugly, familiar head:

"I was going to be working with five other directors on a project about a series of phobias, but that fell apart when we realized that the producer would be taking all of the credit for our work," he recounted. "That's when I decided to do my own movie based upon hypnophobia, the fear of sleep, and I wrote the script for it in two days."

Dunning's short, minus the scary producer, is set to premiere this Sunday night at the Greater Carbondale Chamber of Commerce. There will be a couple of screenings, at 6:30 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.

And just in case you're wondering, Dunning is not exactly a film novice. He made the student film The inFected whiled attending Lackawanna College and continued after graduation with a second horror feature Laughter. The movie screened this pat weekend at the Austin Indie Flix Showcase and so far, the reviews for Hypnophobia have been solid.
