Have Paint Brushes, Will Travel

Fifteen states; three weeks; plenty of canvas-worthy scenery.

That is essentially the plotline of Alex and Chris Paint the USA, a grassroots documentary that streamed initially as a three-part Web series and is now set to fully premiere January 2nd in Bisbee, Arizona.



Along the way, traveler-painters Alex Schaefer and Chris Hernandez would often barter their painted works for food, gas and lodging. The 45-minute documentary was directed by Luke Homay Lewis and follows the pair through Bisbee and other pit stops such as Las Vegas, St. Louis, the Grand Canyon, Austin and New Orleans.

One advantage of these stars and subject matter is how it portends for the premiere screening after-party. To wit, Schaefer will be doing live portraits of attendees.
