The project already has the commitment of a pair of Packers - current fullback John Kuhn and former offensive lineman Mark Tauscher. But project collaborators Ryan Churchill and Nick Greco are hoping to also convince the team's current star quarterback to drop into their movie centered around Ashwaubenon house, a famous locale that sits next to Lambeau Field at the corner of Stadium Drive and Oneida Street.
From a recent report in the Green Bay Gazette:
The idea for the film was born when Churchill's best friend, Tim Lucke, bought the [Ashwaubenon] house in 2004 for the sole purpose of parking cars on the lawn and hosting backyard tailgating parties on Packers home game days. It was the same year that Churchill made the leap from being a theater actor in Chicago to a move to Los Angeles to pursue TV and film work.
"I immediately said, 'This is a movie. I don't know what the movie is, but this is a movie.' And I sat down and basically immersed myself from 2004 all the way until now in how to develop and get this movie made," Churchill said.
With just five days left, Churchill and Greco are about 85 yards short of their Indiegogo goal of $150,000. But given the rabid Packers fan nation and premise of this film, we have a feeling it will get made. One way or another.
