Grabbing Some Film Festival Air

French Fred may seem like an oxymoron, but it is in fact the official handle for Frenchman Fred Mortagne, a well-known figure in the worlds of skateboarding film and photography and now, also, one of those judging entries for the inaugural L.A. Skate Film Festival (LASFF). The event, to be held in downtown Los Angeles from August 30th to September 2nd, 2010, has Mortagne joined in this capacity by skateboarding legend C.R. Stecyk and SkateDaily.net co-founder Bryce Kanights.

Beyond the burning question of whether the red carpet at the Downtown Independent Theater will be temporarily replaced in this case by the red mini-ramp, @LASk8FilmFest organizers are currently offering a secret prize via the official website to the first person who can correctly guess the name of the first-ever skateboarding film. Awards will be given in a dozen categories including Best Skate Shop Video and Classic Skit, with Fuel TV already on board as official broadcast sponsor.
