Take a crazy rom-com premise, add in a couple of former Ohio State Buckeye football standouts (Maurice Hall, Ashton Youboty) and what do you get? The low-budget Columbus, OH offering Best Supporting Daddy, which had its local premiere this past weekend on Saturday, May 1st in Toledo.
Co-financed, written by and starring Mark A. Cummings as a struggling romantic novelist who decides to try and muster up material for his next book by going after a Hollywood A-lister (Quiana Wiley), Best Supporting Daddy has enjoyed a trio of sold-out screenings and upbeat local reviews. Ahead of the film festival circuit, Awalkonwater Entertainment's debut effort appears to have ably tapped into the Typer Perry model of DIY good time entertainment.
